Functions:
There are five major functions. They are as under:
- Career Guidance and Counseling
- Training
- Placements
- Industrial Visits
- HR Meet
Career Guidance and Counseling:
Career guidance and counseling activates are carried out to encourage and motivate all students to archive their goals. This helps the students in getting their ‘dream’ jobs. This activity allows students to network with area businesses for current and future career opportunities. Career guidance seminars are organized.These helps students to choose their career avenues.
The counseling activities actively involve each student to focus on his skills, attributes, experiences and goals. Students are continuously counseled by the faculty members, Alumnus, Industry experts with regard to his/her career aspirations and options, which in turn is vigorously followed up with the potential companies for participating in the placement program of the Institute. Career Counseling involves workshops, mock interviews, SWOT Analysis etc.
Training:
Training is a very important component of the curriculum meant for the students and a valuable tool for Industry – Institute interaction. Various technical and non technical trainings are delivered every year to the students by the Industry experts and Alumnus. Institute has Placement Curriculum which is imparted throughout the course. We conduct Placement Readiness Program (PRP) every year for final year students.
PRP consists of technical and non-technical trainings, which help students to face the campus interviews. Non technical trainings include Aptitude Training, Resume Writing, Soft Skills, Group discussions, Mock hR interviews etc. Technical Trainings include C, C++, Operating Systems, Data Structures, Database Management Systems & Software Engineering etc. We also undertakes International Certification Trainings such as ISTQB, OCJP.
Industry Visits:
In order to understand the working of Corporate Sector, Committee plans and executes visits of pre-final/ final year students to different reputed Industries/ Organizations located in Pune to get right exposure and opportunities.
Placements:
Reputed Companies visit Institute regularly for campus recruitment programs. The placement committee coordinates well with the corporate sector and provides well-developed infrastructure to facilitate the campus selection programs. It maintains a very cordial relationship with all the recruiting companies and also prepares the recruited candidates to face the competitive world. It provides all audiovisual facilities for Power Point Presentations, written and online tests, group discussions and interviews.
Various ways of campus drives are conducted as follows:
- a) On Campus Drive: Company visits the Institute and conducts the drive which includes pre placement talk, Written/ Online test, Interviews and final selection procedure.
- b) Pool Campus Drive: Company visits IMCC or other Institutes for the drives which involves students from various colleges. The selection process is conducted and the results are conveyed to the Institute.
- c) Direct Company Drive: Company conducts the drive at its office premises. Committee sends student data to Company. Company scrutinizes data and shortlisted students appear for placement drive. Results are conveyed to Training and Placement office.
