Other Events

During the academic year 2018-19 following were the Extra Curricular activities of MES’s IMCC.

World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 to celebrate annually on 5th of June. It was first celebrated in 1973 aiming to inspire worldwide people to take positives action regarding prevention of environment on planet earth.

On this occasion, we at IMCC, conducted an activity of tree plantation in our campus on 5th June 2018. All teaching and non-teaching staff members were present for this activity.
We conducted following two activities:

1. Session on world environment day:

Our faculty member and a nature lover Mrs. Swapnaja Patwardhan conducted a session for students about world environment day. She put light on various aspects of nature, tree plantation, e – waste management and pollution free environment.

Here are some glimpses:

2. Tree Plantation Activity:

Trees are beautiful and useful gifts of nature. Trees are great friends of mankind. Trees give us flowers, fruits, timber, bamboo, fuels and most important oxygen. Forest brings clouds and cause rainfall. Trees prevent soil erosion. Trees are a part and parcel of earthly life. All life directly or indirectly owes its existence to them.

We must be grateful, give honor and preserve trees for the mankind wellness.
Keeping this approach in mind, we planted few trees namely palm, Neem Tree, Cassia fistula (Bahava) and banyan tree in our institute’s campus.

Our director Dr. Santosh Deshpande sir supported us for this great activity.
